FACTest Dairy & Grains Profile (incl. yeast & egg) over 25 Foods

Food intolerance is difficult to detect, often involving common foods, and can be an important factor in many acute and chronic conditions. Symptoms may range from IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), muscle and joint aches, fatigue, weight problems, hyperactivity, skin irritations and anxiety.

This smaller FACT Profile measures reactions to all dairy and grain produce as well as yeast and egg. This panel is an economical means of assessing the food groups most commonly implicated in food allergy/sensitivity reactions. In  addition, tissue transflutaminase (tTGA), a marker of untreated Coeliac Disease, is also included in this profile.

Over 25 dairy and grains based foods are covered in this direct cellular assay that can detect allergies caused by a number of  different processes. These include specific allergic (IgE) reactions and food sensitivity (non-IgE mediated) reactions such as those produced by histamine and leukotriene release. The test also measures the release of chemical mediators from white blood cells once they have been stimulated and incubated with the food allergens, making this a direct and therefore very accurate assessment of allergies and intolerances.

The method used to combine both Food Allergy and Intolerance testing involves the use of the FACTest (Food Allergen Cellular Test).
