Chemosensitivity testing
ICIM Medics have partnered with Dr. Hembry in the UK to bring you Irelands Chemosensitivity testing.
Dr Hembry has worked with Research Genetic Cancer Centre (R.G.C.C) in Greece (www.rgcc-genlab.com) since 2005 offering chemosensitivity testing in the UK and now Ireland. This is an in vitro test using DNA microarray tumour profiling for drug sensitivity prediction. Most of the complementary treatments used by ICIM Medics are included in this test profile, and the result is a summary of agents which may be most helpful for an individual’s cancer.
If people also wish to have information on orthodox chemotherapy drugs they can do so. Chemosensitivity testing is of much interest worldwide, both within the NHS and privately, and its proponents are currently seeking clinical validation for their tests. This type of testing will never predict ‘in vivo’ response to treatment with 100% accuracy and there are various reasons for this. However, worldwide research suggests that it does have ‘positive predictive value and R.G.C.C’s audited data from clinics worldwide showed that 70% of patients tested with stage 1V disease after 2 months of using at least 2 recommended treatments from chemosensitivity testing were either stable or in some degree of remission.
