Felipe Reitz, Integrated Medical-Advisor and Managing Director
As the main Integrated Medical-Advisor and Managing Director, Felipe delivers his expertise to both patients and practitioners at ICIM Medics. He draws upon experience, gained over a lifetime of studying both here in Ireland and abroad.
For four years, he studied in the department of Biology at Universidade Federal De Santa Catarina, Brazil. It was here that he nurtured his passion for the sciences, particularly, cell biology. Since then, he has conducted research in Bio-technology and Genetics.
As head of the Advanced Microscopy Research Department at the ICIM, Felipe now focuses on Micro-Macro Ecology and its role in pathology. Felipe’s passion and special interest is in the field of Dark Field Microscopy involving the analysis of haematological studies in a medical professional practice. In fact he has been compiling research and putting together a publication on this subject. In addition, he also holds a certificate in Medical Infrared Thermography Analysis.
As well as his ongoing research, Felipe is a registered member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (UK). After studying Traditional Chinese Medicine at Shanghai University in China, he received a certificate acknowledged by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Felipe has also been practicing Chinese martial arts for over 13 years and is a fifth generation Kung Fu instructor from the Shaolin Monestary. He is also the president of the Medical Chi Gong Society in Ireland which compliments his acupuncture practice. His knowledge in medical studies is well applied in his practice and he is committed to identifying the underlying cause of patient’s disease and integrating natural medical solutions.
Jean Fitzgerald, Homeopath with Naturopathic Approach.
Our Homoeopathy is conducted by Jean FitzGerald BA(Hon’s), LCH, MHMA.
After completing her (Honours) Bachelor of Arts degree at Portobello College in Dublin, Jean attended London’s prestigious College of Homeopathy at Regent’s Park where she earned her licentiate. Following that, she assisted one of Prince Charles’ Medical Advisors for six years at the Hale Clinic, Park Crescent. During this time, she acquired a wealth of knowledge in the practice of Naturopathy.
Jean is also accomplished in Bio-resonance pre-diagnostics and as a specialist in this field; she has trained and educated other doctors and medical practitioners in this area. Her therapeutic experience includes working in a major Homeopathic Pharmacy, the Harley Street Clinic, the Mayfair Clinic and for the past eight years, the Irish Centre of Integrated Medicine. It is here that Jean has furthered her vocation in the medical field, in the science of Live Blood Analysis (Dark Field Microscopy) and Computerised Thermographic Imaging, an integral part of this medical practice.
Having over ten years of medical experience in the healthcare field, Jean is a tremendous asset to the Irish Centre of Integrated Medicine. Using a combination of Herbal Medicine, Homeopathic Remedies and Nutritional Counseling, Jean FitzGerald’s goal is to provide optimum, quality health care for individuals. Her objective is to identify the root of patients complaints through conventional diagnosis and provide them with a natural medical approach towards treatment.
Ciara Fitzpatrick, Registered Nurse.
Our Nurse Services, CTI and Ultrasounds are conducted by Ciara Fitzpatrick, BSc. , RGN.
Ciara holds a Bachelor of Science from University College Dublin and is a registered General Nurse with An Bord Altranais. Ciara completed her nurse training in St. Michaels Hospital, Dun Laoghaire before moving to Naas General Hospital to gain acute medical experience. She then joined the ICIM Medics team in May 2008, when she runs the nursing department and laboratory. Ciara has always had a keen interest in the practice of integrated medicine and has further developed her understanding of combining complementary therapies with conventional diagnostics while working with ICIM Medics.
Ciara is a dedicated member of our staff committed to giving the highest standard of care possible. Ciara is responsible for many of our diagnostic tests including CTI and ultrasound.
Dr.Harald Gaier, Naturopath, Osteopath.
Our Osteopathy and Naturopathy is conducted by Dr. Harald Gaier ND. DOS. Dhom.
With an astonishing four decades of clinical experience, and numerous publications including the Encyclopedic Dictionary of Homeopathy, Dr. Harald C. Gaier is an accomplished Naturopathic Physician, well respected in the international medical community.
In addition, he is fully registered as an Osteopath (General Osteopathic Council), Homeopath (Homeopathic Medical Association), Acupuncturist (British Medical Acupuncture Society) and Medical Herbalist (Association of Master Herbalists) and has been the President of the British Naturopathic Association (BNA) on three separate occasions.
He is aptly sought after by others on matters relating to complimentary and alternative medical and diagnostic techniques. For six years, he served on the Research Committee of the Prince of Wales Foundation for Integrated Health as a Naturopathic Doctor. He now holds the appointment of Director of medical Research at the Irish Centre of Integrated Medicine, after having held the same position for 14 years at the Hale Clinic in the U.K. Dr. Gaier believes firmly that non-orthodox medical treatments exist for virtually any disorder, many of which have proven successful after scrutiny and examination by hard, science-backed, published investigations.
This has become a reality over the past 15 years as Gaier has been regularly publishing peer-reviewed papers of various topics ranging from gut-related medical research to medical economics. With years of clinical experience, combined with academia and research, his presence at the ICIM is truly remarkable.
Liz Nagle – General Practitioner of Natural Medicine
Our Natural Medicine is carried out by Liz Nagle, B.A.(BESS), Dip. Ki Mass. Dip. Nat. Dip. Herbs. M.I.N.A. (Member Irish Naturopaths Association), M.I.R.H. (Irish Register of Herbalists).
A qualified Herbalist and Naturopath, from the College of Naturopathic Medicine, Dublin, Liz also holds a City & Guilds certificate in Massage therapy and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Trinity College, Dublin.
She is delighted to be part of the team here at ICIM as she believes strongly that the naturopathic and integrated approach to health provides the best service, and best results, for patients.
Liz’s main areas of interest are Raw & Wholefood nutrition, and the ancient eastern philosophy of health and wellbeing, Ayurveda – meaning ‘the art of living wisely’. Treatment programmes are based primarily on choosing suitable food, lifestyle, exercise, and relaxation techniques that will bring your body back to its natural state of health & balance. She states her goal, as a naturopath, is to provide you with the knowledge, support, and guidance to make better choices towards a healthier, more balanced life.
As the current President & Chairperson of the Irish Naturopaths Association (INA), Liz takes a keen interest in the promotion of naturopathic principles to the general public. To this end, she runs courses on Raw & Wholefood Nutrition and Natural Health & Beauty, and is available to give talks on related subjects to interested groups.
Dr. Finbar Magee, Specialist Medical Practitioner/ General Practitioner.
Dr. Finbar Magee graduated from Queen’s University (Belfast) in 1985. He has worked in mainstream medicine for over 20 years. Dr. Magee worked as a GP principal in Belfast. Early in his career he began studying other modalities in search of answers he couldn’t find within the modern medicine framework. He studied at Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital and Shanghai TCM College in 1991 (acupuncture and herbal medicine). He joined the British Society of Ecological Medicine (BSEM) in 1992. Under the BSEM he studied nutrition, allergies and toxicology and still attends seminars to update from recent findings / research. He also qualified in metal toxicology in the USA and Europe.
He takes a wide holistic approach to medicine combining many years of experience in various modalities.
Henk Meijnhardt - Naturopath, Homeopath
Henk holds diplomas in Naturopathy and Homeopathy from the College of Naturopathic Medicine, Dublin.
He is a founder member of the Irish Naturopaths Association of which he has been the Secretary General for many years. His interest in Homeopathy was raised at a very young age when his four-year-old sister had to undergo tonsillectomy. Thanks to a last minute visit to a homeopathic paediatrician she still has her tonsils 50 years later. Naturopathy dealt with his own back and hip pain, after almost being assigned to a wheelchair. A strong believer in an integrated approach to health care that has its focus on the total well being of the patient, he has over ten years of medical experience in the healthcare field.
He also practises cranio-sacral therapy.
Tzaneen Laws, Osteopath.
Our Osteopathy is conducted by Tzaneen Laws.
Tzaneen Laws is originally from South Africa and is a fully qualified structural Osteopath who studied at the British School of Osteopathy in London. She is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), British Osteopathic Association (BOA) and the Osteopathic Council of Ireland (OCI). Having suffered from a long history of back pain and having been treated by many different practitioners she discovered osteopathy and after a couple of treatments was so impressed with the results decided to study the four year course and to improve other peoples general state of health and help them to manage their pain and improve general mobility whilst treating the body as a whole rather than just individual, symptomatic parts.
Tzaneen is very excited to be part of the successful practice of ICIM which has given her the opportunity she has been looking forward to for many years to move to Ireland, a country she greatly admires.
John Kelly, Tungs Acupuncture.
Our Tungs Acupuncture is conducted by John Kelly Dip. Acu, Cert Med.
John graduated from the Lansdowne College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Dublin, where he finished a three year diploma course. He is trained in the traditional system of Chinese Medicine, which includes Acupuncture, Cupping, Moxibustion and Herbal Medicine, as well as western clinical medicine.
John has post graduate training in Tungs acupuncture, a unique system of acupuncture which offers quick and effective pain relief using few needles. This system is successful in treating both acute and chronic disease and provides the normal therapeutic effect of acupuncture.
John is dedicated to his practice and is continuously updating his skills in order to provide the best care for each patient.
Eadaoin Ponisi, Neuromuscular Therapist.
Our Neuromuscular Therapy is conducted by Eadaoin Ponisi N.M.T. , C.C.M.E; Pilates Institute, U.K; N.C.H.E.S; N.C.E.F.
Eadaoin is a qualified Neuromuscular Therapist, Physical Therapist, Orthopaedic Sports Massage Therapist & Remedial Therapist.
She is also a fully qualified Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor who has practiced the Pilates method for 30 years now, and is teaching the Pilates method full time for a number of years.
Eadaoin is currently studying a Masters Degree in Pilates and is also in the process of both writing a Pilates Manual as well as releasing Pilates DVDs. Eadaoin would eventually like to bring Pilates training to the I.C.I.M. clinic.
