The ICIM Medics Specialist Medical Practitioner takes a wide holistic approach to medicine combining many years of experience in various modalities.
“Our present health is a product of many factors - genes, environmental exposure to chemicals and metals from before we are born to the present, stress, our upbringing, radiation (microwave, electromagnetic), diet/nutrition, allergies, spirituality or lack off and other factors we may not even be aware of”.
What to expect from your consultation
During your consultation the medical practitioner looks at your medical history in detail. After examination he then decides what tests to perform. This often includes:
- a) Routine bloods - full blood picture, kidney & liver function etc.
- b) Nutritional blood tests such as selenium, glutathione, essential fatty acids and many more as indicated.
- c) Functional biochemistry tests - such as bowel bacteria assessment - either by stool tests or gut fermentation (blood). Details of these types of tests are available on:

www.microtrace.de
www.gdx.net
To get well it is important to get the foundation right. Metal toxins can affect the body biochemistry in several ways:
- a) Allergy - see www.melisa.com
- b) Blocking enzymes - enzymes are like the workers on a building site that use materials (minerals, vitamins, essential fatty acids, amino acids etc. ) to build a healthy body. Enzymes are often switched on” by mineral cofactors such as zinc, selenium, molybdenum, magnesium etc. Toxic metals such as arsenic, antimony, mercury, lead etc. (see www.microtrace.de )
- c) Electrical activity - metals can build up in tissues such as muscle and heart to cause disturbance.
It is like repairing an engine
- a) Clean the filters - i.e. liver, kidneys bowel - removing as much dirt and debris (chemicals, metals, bad bacteria, etc.) as possible.
- b) Feed suitable fuel - remove food allergies or other harmful reactions
- c) Ensure adequate suitable oils - essential fatty acids.
- d) Fine tune to ensure efficiency - free up biochemical pathways by ensuring good amounts of suitable nutrients and removing blocks - chemicals and metals.
“Using this wide approach I have seen many conditions reverse or improve which I would have thought impossible 20 years ago.” - Dr. Finbar Magee, ICIM Medics Specialist Medical Practioner.
